Hispanic advocacy group launches new media campaign
Hispanos Unidos aims to elevate community voices
SANTA FE— Today, Hispanos Unidos launched a new media campaign aimed at shedding light on the frustrations of the New Mexico Hispanic community. The group, founded in 2008, is a non-partisan advocacy organization geared to and driven by New Mexico Hispanics. The new campaign and digital rebrand highlight the group’s mission: advancement of opportunity, the defense of our common heritage, and the promotion of good governance.
“Hispanos are tired of being kept down. We are here to remind our people to be proud of our heritage and values. We built this state, and now it is up to us to save this state,” said Executive Director Dax Contreras.
The first ad, titled “My Children’s Future,” will kick off a series of videos highlighting our current situation while inspiring a new generation of advocates to expect more from our leadership.
“I’m incredibly proud of the work our organization has done,” said Dax. “I know many in our state are numb to the state of our state. Last in education, first in crime, and the worst place to do business has become the status quo. But for my family and fellow New Mexicans, failure is unacceptable. We must renew our hope for a better future. We must remind our gente that the next generation demands that we stand up for them today.”
